Izabela Dorota Skorupko was born in Bialystok, Poland, in 1970 to Lech and Magdalena Skorupko. Her parents separated the following year and she moved to Stockholm with her mother.
During the 1980s, Scorpuco got work as a model and was featured on the cover of Vogue. Then, in the 1990s, she had a brief career as a pop star. However, her big break came in 1995, when she was cast as Natalya Simonova, the female star of the James Bond film GoldenEye, which was the first to star Pierce Brosnan as Bond.
Scorupco married Polish ice hockey player Mariusz Czerkawski on December 25, 1996. They had one daughter, Julia, before they separated in 1998. She remarried in 2003, to the American Jeffrey Raymond, and they have a son, Jakob. They are still together.
In 2002, Scorupco appeared in Reign of Fire, an action fantasy film about dragons which have destroyed England. She starred alongside Welsh actor Christan Bale, best known for portraying Batman in Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy. Bale was at one time a possible candidate for the next James Bond.
